Welcome to Country

Acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the Illawarra

Acknowledgment of Country

Crampton IT Solutions acknowledges the Dharawal people as the traditional custodians of the land on which we operate in the Illawarra region. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging, and recognise their continuing connection to country, culture, and community.

We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and that this land was and always will be Aboriginal land. We are grateful to work on this beautiful country and are committed to learning from and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The Illawarra region has been home to Aboriginal peoples for tens of thousands of years, with the Dharawal people maintaining deep cultural, spiritual, and economic connections to these lands and waters.

About the Dharawal People

The Dharawal people are the Aboriginal people of the Illawarra and southern Sydney regions. Their traditional country extends from the Cooks River in the north to the Shoalhaven River in the south, and from the coast to the Great Dividing Range.

The Dharawal people have a rich cultural heritage that includes:

  • Deep knowledge of the land, sea, and waterways
  • Traditional hunting, fishing, and gathering practices
  • Sophisticated systems of land management including controlled burning
  • Rich oral traditions, stories, and spiritual connections to country
  • Traditional art, music, and dance

Our Commitment

At Crampton IT Solutions, we are committed to:

  • Respectfully acknowledging Aboriginal heritage and culture
  • Supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and communities
  • Continuing to learn about the history and culture of this land
  • Promoting reconciliation and understanding
  • Ensuring our business practices respect and honour Aboriginal culture
